Declan Dog

Hi.

Welcome to my blog.
Meet my tribe of four-legged friends and their #dogbore humans, sharing stories that will make you laugh, cry and most importantly want to hug your dog.

Dog;
Nelson
At best guess a Llewellin Setter cross, a former stray from the streets of Greece

How did you meet your canine companion?
He was a stray in a small village in central Greece. He walked right up to our car at an intersection with pleading eyes.

What’s the story behind your dog’s name?
The name Nelson just popped into my head when I saw him. I had never even thought of that name for a dog before and I have a long list I've been compiling.

How has your life changed since you have had your dog?
He is an angel. He has saved us from the heartbreak of losing our previous dog, a month after Nelson's arrival.

Which 3 words best describe your dog’s personality?
Gentle, playful, thankful

Who’s your dog’s favourite person?
My husband Walt (sadly, I'm second in this line up of love)

What’s your dog’s superpower?
Flight. He is bird crazy, so this would put him on the same plane as them.

If your dog had a job, what would it be?
A therapy dog, he is just so kind. People stop us on the street and ask about him, because he has such a sweetness and happiness about him. I think his aura is made of flowers, sunshine and sweet honey.

What’s your dog’s most unappealing / most embarrassing habit?
He jumps up on people. I think that's a throwback from when he had to beg for food and affection. Luckily he is the sweetest, most gentle dog and he's not so big that he can knock anyone over.

Where can we find you hanging out with your dog?
At the beach, on the sofa, in the forest.

Finish this sentence "a dog walks into a bar….”
.. pees on the bar stools, and walks back out again.
