American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, I adopted Snoop from my local humane society when he was 5 years old in 2013.
How did you meet your canine companion?
In 2013, one of my family dogs passed away suddenly. We were most attached to each other and my heart was broken. I was in my junior year of college and already dating my boyfriend, Pete, and I decided I needed a dog of my own. And not another family dog, one that was all mine. I wanted an adventure buddy, so I started going to local animal shelters to find one. As soon as I saw that giant, block head and beautiful, sad eyes, it was game over. I applied to adopt him right away and by the end of the week, he was part of our family.
What’s the story behind your dog’s name?
"Snoop" was his name when we adopted him and changing it never crossed our minds. "Snoop" just fits him so well I couldn't imagine him with a different one.
How has your life changed since you have had your dog?
Ever since I was little, I was obsessed with dogs. All I ever dreamed about was having a dog that loved me as much as I loved them, and Snoop made my dream come true. We're a threesome now, but for the first 3 years we had Snoop, he lived at my house and we were joined at the hip. He's changed our lives and the lives of our friends and family in the best ways, adding more cuteness, laughter, and unconditional love than any dog I've ever known. Plus, I can't imagine making the transition to van life without him by our sides.
Which 3 words best describe your dog’s personality?
Chill, cuddly, intelligent
Who’s your dog’s favourite person?
If I truly thought Snoop preferred me or Pete over the other, I would admit it. But I honestly feel as though he loves both of us the same.
What’s your dog’s superpower?
He has a super ability to make any person he meets feel overcome with joy and love.
If your dog had a job, what would it be?
I think he'd be a philosopher or something like that. He's so smart and I can just tell there are a lot of deep thoughts going on in that giant head of his.
What’s your dog’s most unappealing / most embarrassing habit?
Flatulence. Very loud flatulence.
Where can we find you hanging out with your dog?
We're all over the place! You can find us cruising down the highway in our van, camping in national forests, or splashing around at the beach.
