Welcome to my blog.
Meet my tribe of four-legged friends and their #dogbore humans, sharing stories that will make you laugh, cry and most importantly want to hug your dog.

The Designer & Maker Dog Bore

Dog Bore: Helen Rogers
Job: A self employed Designer Maker from Manchester & an official Made in Britain member. I make 'miscellaneous' handmade gifts for home & hound at www.misheleneous.co.uk & www.etsy.com/shop/MisHelenEous
Dog: Heidi Hellhound
Female Border Terrier from Wigan! Northwest England. Like Hacker The Dog from CBBC. It explains a lot.

How did you meet your canine companion?
We first met Heidi on July 4th 2015. We only discovered her existence by chance after nearly giving up our search for another Border Terrier, after losing our first in January 2015, and we were able to collect her from the breeder 2 days later aged 8 weeks!

What’s the story behind your dog’s name?
We had a few names in the hat and a lot of them began with H for some reason! We wanted a human name this time as our first Border Terrier was called Whiskey. We nearly chose Holly but when we met her she was most definitely a Heidi to us.

How has your life changed since you have had your dog?
Well we've just redecorated after her puppyhood handiwork in the kitchen so that's a change we hadn't planned! Think 'part shark-part beaver'. We had forgotten what Border Terrier puppies are like, as our first was 8 years old when she died suddenly, and it was a huge adjustment initially. Heidi changed our lives by bringing the joy back into it after the devastation of losing Whiskey. But she is a completely different kettle of mad box of frogs! At 20 months i'm still not sure what she'll do next.

Which 3 words best describe your dog’s personality?
See last comment! But probably the 2 syllable word Hell-Hound. I asked my husband this question & he said euphemistically 'Exuberant', Loving (she loves a cuddle now) & playful (totally ball obsessed,we think she may be a spaniel in disguise)

Who’s your dog’s favourite person?
My mum! (I'm not jealous-I am) They have a very special bond and for such a boistrous dog Heidi is very gentle round my mum who has been very poorly. She loves it when we visit her or she comes here

What’s your dog’s superpower?
Heidi's human dad is Steve Rogers (the real one, aka Captain America) so it could be anything! Mainly destruction & ball retrieving though

If your dog had a job, what would it be?
The Boss! Heidi has her work duties for me, modelling the bespoke bandanas i make for customers in my online shop & generally being a legend in her own lunchtime on social media & within my advertising, but she'd go for anything that involved excitement & furry creatures. So maybe a job at Pets At Home, near the rabbits & guinea pigs.

What’s your dog’s most unappealing / most embarrassing habit?
Where do I stop?! Like a lot of dogs she is magnetically attracted to Rabbit Raisins in the park on our daily walks and likes to roll in Eau de Fox but her screaming like a banshee at random cats in the street is so bad people think we are hurting her! She looks under cars for them. Its so stereotypical Tom & Jerry and its deeply embarrassing.

Where can we find you hanging out with your dog?
In our local Heaton Park, Prestwich, Manchester. She runs her little legs off in this enormous space. A tiny dog's magical playground, and mine.

Finish this sentence "a dog walks into a bar….”
Ow! Look where you're going ??
