The Blogging & PR Dog Bore
How did you meet your canine companion?
He stuck his tongue at me in a photo and I knew he was the dog for me. I had my breeder set up for ages, and we'd done visits when Basil's mum was pregnant to meet the gang but due to work commitments, I was one of the last would-be owners to get up there to meet and pick my pup. The breeder sent me and another girl pictures of the two remaining pups so we could see what lay in-store. I fell in love with Basil instantly. As fate would have it, the girl went up the week before me and bonded better with the other dog so Basil was all mine!!!
What’s the story behind your dog’s name?
I wanted a 'B' name to go with Boston Terrier and Barkarama. I was originally going to get a girl dog and call her Betty (a nickname for a hottie in the US) but then switched to getting a boy. I went through lots of boys names beginning with B before settling on Basil. His pedigree name is Basileus, which means King or Emperor in Greek. Both versions of his name suit Lord Fancy Pants perfectly.
How has your life changed since you have had your dog?
It's infinitely better. He brings joy, laughter, happiness and love into my life - and that of my friends and family plus he gets me off my butt every day although he's that lazy I think he wishes I didn't. Some people see dogs as a bind and tie on your life. Not me. I try to include him as much as possible in my social life; he's helped me make a whole new set of friends, and has even inspired my blog and a business. Every day is better with Basil in my life.

If your dog had a job, what would it be?
He does. He's a model and a doggy reviewer.
What’s your dog’s most unappealing / most embarrassing habit?

Where can we find you hanging out with your dog?
Brentwood, Essex where we live - we have a fave pub called The Spread Eagle, and Weald Park for brilliantly beautiful walks. Alternatively we head to London to sniff out dog-friendly bars and restaurants.
