The Travelling Terrier Dog (Bore)

The Travelling Terrier Dog (Bore)

This week our chosen dog Olive decided to take over our blog and answer for herself....
Dog (Bore): Olive
Job: I'm a traveling terrier. My pawrents and I love to travel this wonderful world that we call home. We are constantly in search of all things pet friendly and enjoy sharing our finds with other pups and their pawrents!
Dog: Olive
4 years old, a Boston Terrier mix

Where's your dog from?
Well you see I had myself in a bit of a pickle. I was found wondering the streets, and was picked up by the Orange County Animal Control, and found to be pregnant with 13 puppies! Since most shelters opt to euthanize momma dogs (due to limited resources) I was lucky enough that a wonderful organization by the name of Cuddly Canines Rescue came to my aid. They placed me into a foster where I went on to deliver my pups, of which 10 survived, and later were all adopted out. Then came my turn, and that's where my pawrents come in, and the rest is history as they say!

How did you meet your canine companion?
My pawrents met me through Cuddly Canines Rescue. I had just weaned my pups, they were all (thankfully) adopted out, and it was then my turn to be adopted and as it's said, the rest is history!

What’s the story behind your dog’s name?
About a year before I was adopted, my pawrents made the tough, but loving decision to help their then older pup go to the rainbow bridge (she had been diagnosed with a Chemodectoma tumor in the right ventricle of her heart and the prognosis was very grim). After my pawrents heart's healed, I entered into their lives. My pawrents compiled a list of names which included: Olive, Willow, Piper, and Wednesday. After being officially adopted and part of the family, my pawrents spent a week learning my personality before picking my name. It was Dad who chose my name. He said he chose "Olive" because like the symbol of an olive branch, I brought peace (and a lively spirit) back into the house.

How has your life changed since you have had your dog?
I believe that I have enriched my pawrents lives by bringing a playful spirit back into the house. Also, I believe that I have inspired them to get out and go exploring more. There are just too many good smells to be discovered!

Which 3 words best describe your dog’s personality?
Oh, only three words! My pawrents couldn't choose! They said that I am: Headstrong, Loving, Patient, Loyal and Playful.

Who’s your dog’s favourite person?
The person that holds a cookie!

What’s your dog’s superpower?
Sneaky, lightening fast french kisses!

If your dog had a job, what would it be?
Professional human walker or an interrogator (because I get very nosy and continuously sniff my pawrents any time they return home from somewhere they didn't take me with them).

What’s your dog’s most unappealing / most embarrassing habit?
Hmmm, I know my pawrents get embarrassed when I "hump" things or when I sneak a piece of cat poo whenI found while on our walks... So un lady-like!

Where can we find you hanging out with your dog?
Either huddled together looking at a view on an adventure or cuddled together enjoying blankie and movie time.

Finish this sentence "a dog walks into a bar….”
....sits and stays.
