The Dog Walker Dog Bore

Dog Bore: Emma
Job: Dog walker - Wild Tails Edinburgh, Scotland
Dog: Odie
Odie is from Romania and he's a terrier mix! (Not sure exactly what his heritage is)

How did you meet your canine companion?
I knew I wanted to get a rescue and had been searching for quite a while when I stumbled across Animal Rescue Crew online. They are a Scottish charity helping the strays of Romania find loving homes over here. I fell in love with that wee scruffy face straight away and applied online, went through a very thorough process and a long wait and then he eventually came over to Edinburgh to start his new life with me!

What’s the story behind your dog’s name?
He was called Larry by the rescue, though I didn't really like it. I thought Odie was a super cute name and it really suits him, he looks like an Odie to me! He adapted really well to the name change and I thought a new start warranted a new name.

How has your life changed since you have had your dog?
Massively! I was miserable working in the NHS and Odie inspired me to quit my job and become a dog walker! I've never felt happier, hanging out with dogs all day is a dream job...even when they're naughty haha.

Which 3 words best describe your dog’s personality?
Happy, funny, adorable

Who’s your dog’s favourite person?
He's definitely a mummy's boy.

What’s your dog’s superpower?
His ability to overcome his fears and how much he's changed in the last year I've had him. Being a street dog has had an impact on him but he's the most loving boy with such a funny wee character.

If your dog had a job, what would it be?
Soft toy tester. He loves tearing teddies up!

What’s your dog’s most unappealing / most embarrassing habit?
He always finds the most obscure places to poop when out for walks and smiles at us while doing so!

Where can we find you hanging out with your dog?
There's lots of nice green spaces in Edinburgh, like Arthur's Seat we enjoy. Or quite often, the pub! Odie loves a trip to one of our local pubs in Leith, we are spoilt for choice with lots of dog friendly boozers!

Finish this sentence "a dog walks into a bar….”
....And everyone smiles.
