Mystery mutt from Romania
How did you meet your canine companion?
I met Goldie at a delightful service station just outside of London... I spotted her on the website of this wonderful dog rescue organisation called Romanian Rescue Appeal, and they facilitate the handover wherever is easiest. So, Goldie was first plonked into my arms on a lorry carpark.
What’s the story behind your dog’s name?
I have no idea. The charity chose it. It suits her though – her hair colour is pretty gold. As is her heart (awwww).
How has your life changed since you have had your dog?
People in the gym started giving me pitying looks – I have so many bruises on my body now that I look like something bad has happened to me. It's really all amazing though – I have a puppy, and we play so much. Goldie can play quite rough, which I shouldn't encourage, but I can't help myself. Apart from that, walks are a delight again. My late dog, Pippa, was 14 when she passed away last September. For her last two years, she was not a big walker anymore, and for her last six months, I even had her in a cart. As much as I miss Pippa, being able to walk to places and socialise with the other dog bores is great.
Which 3 words best describe your dog’s personality?
Bold. Innocent. Trusting.
Who’s your dog’s favourite person?
Ahem... have you seen me open the fridge? I have no competition :-)
What’s your dog’s superpower?
She makes everyone play. Even grumpy dogs who "don't really play" get down and wrestle with her.
If your dog had a job, what would it be?
She is only one year old, so all she can do is blogging, but I am hoping she will pursue a career in health when she is old enough.
What’s your dog’s most unappealing / most embarrassing habit?
She hides her food. It's actually very sweet, because she was a street dog so she likes to hide food for later. But when you find a pig's ear under your pillow, it's quite special.
Where can we find you hanging out with your dog?
Anywhere in Hackney pretty much, specially around London Fields. If you can't spot us, we are the ones who look the most alike.
Finish this sentence "a dog walks into a bar….”
