Jack Russell / Pointer cross - no idea how the mechanics of that coupling might have worked!
She is a rescue dog from the Dogs Trust in Kenilworth UK.
How did you meet your canine companion?
We already had a dog at the time, a Hovawart (a German dog breed) called “dook” and had just moved to a larger house and now had a garden and knew we could offer a loving home to another dog. There are so many rescue dogs in need of forever home so we visited the dogs trust. As soon as we saw her we knew she was the one for us!
What’s the story behind your dog’s name?
Simple really, she already had that name when we got her.
How has your life changed since you have had your dog?
So much has changed, we’ve moved house again, started our own business and sadly lost our first dog “dook”. Meg was sooo in love with him. Meg is such a part of our lives it’s hard to recall a time without her, she’s always begging for food and since spending so much time in the kitchen making and photographing food these days she’s always under our feet!
Which 3 words best describe your dog’s personality?
Hungry, tenacious and comical
Who’s your dog’s favourite person?
Definitely Sam, she’s the one with the food! She spends all day with Sam and misses her terribly when she’s not home.
What’s your dog’s superpower?
Bottomless stomach. Seriously, that dog could never be full, we’re very careful to maintain a healthy weight for her but I swear she would never stop eating if she had the chance.
If your dog had a job, what would it be?
Chief taste tester for Thecookandhim.com
What’s your dog’s most unappealing / most embarrassing habit?
As she’s got a little older, she’s 14 now, she become, how can we say.....a little less dignified ....she farts her way up the stairs every night, it’s hilarious.
Where can we find you hanging out with your dog?
Mostly in the kitchen. We live in a small town right in the middle of the UK, so there not much in the way of adventures to be had! She also hates to travel in the car and can be sick before we’ve left the drive.
Finish this sentence "a dog walks into a bar….”
And orders a pint of Guinness, he downs it in one and says “same again please”, he downs the second pint and says “I shouldn’t really be drinking this with what I’ve got”. The barman looks worried and asks “what have you got?”, the dog replies “about 75 pence”
