The Hairstylist/ Foster Failure Dog Bore
Dog Bore: Renée Galpin
Job: Hairstylist/ Foster Failure Dog Mom
Dogs: Johnny Cash & Jax, Apollo & Myla
How did you meet your canine companion?
Our yellow Lab was bought from a breeder 12yrs ago, since then I started fostering and rescue. I adopted Myla the Husky mix on the left. She had been tied to a box her first year alive and had a litter of pups by the time she was only 11 months old.
I fostered Johnny Cash (the black Pitty mix) and his siblings whilst working with Shirley’s Angel Boxer Rescue. I kept Johnny and I found homes for his siblings. They were all infested with fleas and worms when they came to me and were missing large patches of hair from all the scratching.
I fostered Jax, the blue-eyed Border Collie/am staff mix on the right. He was taken from his MaMa at just 5 weeks old, which is terrible for many reasons, especially poor social skills not learned from his mother. I decided he was so high maintenance and difficult that he would likely end up homeless time and time again, so I kept him and have worked endlessly training him into a great, incredibly smart boy!
It can be a full-time job but well worth it from all the unconditional love I receive every day.
